Matthew Hicks, ND, MS
President & Founder
Matthew is the founder of Synaptic Institute, a naturopathic physician specializing in integrative mental health, post-doctoral research scholar with OHSU and NUNM, and a facilitator of psychedelic therapy. He also holds a degree in medical research and has authored peer-reviewed papers on empathy, mindfulness, and psychedelic topics.

Greg Robillard, MA, LMFT
Board Member
Greg is a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice and adjunct faculty at Lewis and Clark Graduate School. He works primarily with trauma, using EMDR, Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, and mindfulness modalities. He serves as secretary of the board of directors of Synaptic, and teaches our setting and diagnosis courses.
Tahlia Harrison, MS, MFTA
Board Member
Tahlia is a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate who provides supportive, trauma-informed individual and relational therapy. She also completed a Master of Science in Bioethics and Science Policy from Duke University and is currently a PhD candidate under the mentorship of Monnica Willaims. She serves as treasurer of the board of directors for Synaptic and oversees our ethics and equity curriculum.
Kathryn Tucker, JD
Board Member
Kathryn L. Tucker is a national leader in advocating for improved care for seriously ill and dying patients. She has held key roles in various nonprofit organizations like the National Psychedelics Association, Completed Life Initiative, End of Life Liberty Project, Disability Rights Legal Center, Compassion & Choices, and Compassion in Dying. Tucker is a founding member of the Psychedelic Bar Association and has been active in initiatives like the Initiative on Psychedelics and Healing. In her legal career, she's been Special Counsel at Emerge Law Group and a litigation attorney at Perkins Coie. She has also taught law, medicine, and ethics at several universities. Currently, Tucker is involved in groundbreaking litigation under the Right to Try Act and petitions related to psilocybin therapy.
Olivia Hicks, ND
Executive Director
Olivia is a naturopathic physician and psilocybin facilitator specializing in holistic mental health care using psychedelic assisted therapy, somatic techniques, and psychospiritual herbalism. She serves as the executive director of Synaptic Institute, managing students, supporting faculty, and teaching.
